Tasty Tuesday: Fall donuts
Here’s a recipe for Skinny Pumpkin Cinnamon Chip Donuts. I’m not sure if donuts can ever truly be “skinny,” and if they were, I don’t think the donut lovers in my family would eat them! I’m not a donut fan, but I am happy to go get donuts with them (and to get coffee). Perhaps I could try making these for my family, too.
This week I’ve been ghostwriting a bunch of recipes, and they are really giving me the cooking bug. I’m ready to start my holiday baking now! *Making a roux, and then some gumbo
* Making an entire Kentucky Derby traditional brunch. Don’t worry that it’s not derby time for another several months—in fact, don’t worry about it at all. Instead, try your hand at derby pie, mint juleps and Kentucky hot browns. Dress up (complete with fancy hats) with your family and have an amazing Southern brunch.
* No party is complete without my mom’s party potatoes. Mix a bag of frozen shredded hash browns, a can of cream of chicken or mushroom soup, a large container of sour cream and half a bag of shredded cheddar together and bake it at 350 for half an hour. (You can add garlic, onions or anything else you like, too.) Then pour the rest of the cheese on top and finish it with another 10-15 minutes and serve it hot. Oh, it’s so yummy. When we bring this to parties, we never have leftovers.
