Obamacare for Pets?

Okay, so maybe it’s not really Obamacare for pets, but there is a new program in New York that will be helping pet owners that can’t afford to keep their furry friends healthy. Too often people have to make the choice between whether they can take their animals to see the doctor or not. With all the other crazy costs of living in a place like New York, that choice becomes one that may affect whether or not a pet owner may eat. The only requirement to getting this extra help is that you prove you’re a person undergoing financial hardship. And while some may complain that this is a waste of city funds, it’s been proven that people with pets are often more empathic and think of their fellow human beings more when making decisions. So you could say that a healthy pet equates to less tendencies towards violence and crime. Which, in the long run, would save the city money.
