A day when being single was awesome

Isn't that every day?

For the challenge to describe "A day when being single was awesome," honestly I have a tough time picking just one. Most recently, I remember a moment a few months ago when I was extremely relieved not to have to justify my purchases or home decorating decisions to another person.

I had come home with a raw fleece from a family member's sheep, and lacking any sort of garage or closet, I just left it in its big black garbage bag in the living room. Mind you, a raw fleece smells a bit terrible. Even tied up inside a plastic bag, my living room quickly developed a certain "petting zoo" kind of air.

It wasn't the greatest solution, but I didn't know what else to do, so I just left it there for now. Very glad I didn't have to explain this to someone else.

At the same time, I had spent a truly ridiculous amount of money on video games that week. Not just on the games themselves (it was the Steam Summer Sale) but on in-game content, as well. I remember looking at the email receipts and being very happy that I had all my geeky toys, and very happy that I didn't have to justify the purchase to someone sensible (i.e. anyone else, at that moment).
