Strange and Exotic Events Watch - September / October

Want to try something a little bit different? Lucky for you, NYC is big enough that all sorts of unique and unusual things are happening all throughout the year. Here are a few taking place this week.

Medieval Festival - FortTryonPark - Sept 28th

The park becomes a medieval village for a day during this festival. It’s a bit like the Renaissance Fair, but much more low key. Check out period music, food, drink, performances and more. There will even be a display of jousting for those that enjoy medieval competition.

Bus Festival - New YorkTransitMuseum - Sept 28th

Have a love of vintage buses and transit-related history? Then check out the Bus Festival in Brooklyn. It may not be your typical festival, but you’ll learn plenty and even get the chance to wander around on some of the old-timey buses. The festival is free and if you want to check out the museum it’s only a buck.
