St. Patty’s Day Parade Finally Opens Up to the LGBT Crowd

New York City has been rated as one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in the States, higher than San Francisco, in fact. Now, one more thing in the city has changed to the benefit of inclusion. The St. Patty’s Day Parade, traditionally off-limits to those of alternative sexual identities, has opened up for the first time ever. A gay group will be marching in the parade next year.

It’s one more sign that the world is changing and a small but crucial step forward in the acceptance of all lifestyles. While it took a long time to happen, the religious dogma surrounding the parade has been broken. Hopefully, we’ll see more developments like this in the near future.
