NYC Set to Become Big Casino-ville?

The state of New York is looking to bring in some of that big casino money. But while it was pretty much expected that all the gambling development would take place in upstate New York, now it seems as if NYC proper is trying to get a piece of the action.

They’re not right in the city, but they may end up within a short driving distance. While this helps NYC in the long run, there are some consequences of this potential outcome. The casino development was originally intended to help outlying counties bring in some extra cash. Now it seems as if the people that were supposed to benefit the most won’t be seeing as many of the casinos as they’d like. Further, if things keep going they way they are, many are speculating that we could end up with casinos right in NYC. But is this something that residents of the city want?
