Normally one doesn’t associate a large whale migration with New York City. They come by every year, but this year seems to be the year that all the whales decided to take a New York vacation. Needless to say, tourists and locals alike are pleased. Those fancy science types think that fishing restrictions and the resulting increase in fish populations are the reason the whales are hanging out. Either way, some whale-watching companies are going to be very happy once they look at their paychecks this month. So jump onboard while you can, New Yorkers. You never know when the whales will decide it’s time to move on.
