Tasty Tuesday: Valentine’s treats

One last roundup before the big holiday

Here are some yummy treats worth considering for your Valentine’s festivities. Let us know what you’re cooking up for Valentine’s Day in the comments!

Do you like Mounds bars? If you want to make these coconutty delights for Valentine’s Day with a healthier homemade twist, visit the Homemade & Healthy blog for the recipe. I’m not a fan of coconut (though I do like coconut water), but just looking at these makes my mouth water. If you like chocolate and coconut, you should definitely give this one a try. If Kit Kat bars are your thing, try this recipe from A Beautiful Mess instead. Kit Kats are Wood Sprite’s favorite, so I’m bookmarking this one. They even have color variations in honor of Valentine’s Day.

And speaking of A Beautiful Mess, the savvy women who run the blog have also come up with a fun recipe for chocolate and red wine donuts just in time for the holiday. These gooey, chocolatey treats would be a great gift for your partner, sibling, best friend or chocoholic parent.

The Messy Baker has a recipe for cheesecake swirl brownies that makes me wish that we had to bring a dessert instead of an appetizer to our homeschool dance this week. (They assign food by last name and we are in the appetizer section.) We can always make them here at home. I have purchased cheesecake swirl brownie mix before and it was pretty disgusting, but I bet a homemade version would be much tastier.
