Tasty Tidbits: Penguin snacks

Plus ooey gooey gnocchi

If your family is having a rough time staying indoors and keeping warm this season, one fun idea is to have a penguin day. Wood Sprite and I did this with crafts and books but we forgot about the treats! Reading Confetti has 5 cute penguin snacks you can make out of chocolate, bananas and much more. Making and eating these would definitely fill up a portion of an indoor afternoon.

Wood Sprite is loving Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 and wants me to mention talking strawberries and marshmallows in my “food article.” She’s right, though. Those two things make it worth watching.

This week’s yummy-ness over at A Beautiful Mess includes garlic and kale baked gnocchi. You know, I’ve been compiling gnocchi recipes for a while now and I still have yet to try it. Maybe this recipe is the one that I’m looking for. They say that it’s quite a bit like baked macaroni, which I’m all in favor of both cooking and eating!

The other super delicious-looking recipe I ran across this week is breakfast tostadas from Homegrown & Healthy. I am a huge breakfast burrito lover; they are so easy to make and sooo good. While I wouldn’t include ever ingredient in this homemade salsa recipe (no thanks on the onions!), just looking at it makes me hungry. She’s also got a really unique dessert that I’ve never heard of that looks pretty good. Apparently it’s really a breakfast item, but it sure looks pretty dessert-y to me. My husband really goes for sweet breakfast items; I’m more of a savory kind of girl in the morning. How about you?
