Mariners Minor League Game Action Recap for August 17
I'll do a separate news thread later with All-Star stuff and other items.
Thanks to an alert reader, we know that Dominic Leone (Talk40 #25) and Dillon Hazlett were promoted to AA Jackson. It turns out they arrived at the stadium just minutes before the first pitch.
Erasmo Ramirez was so horrible that they sent him all the way down to Everett. No. That's not it.
They want him to keep pitching over the All-Star Break, which wouldn't happen at Tacoma, and going to Everett keeps him close.
A generous dose of pessimism administered on Thursday night. Ugh.
Plus I apparently offended our main man Bat571. Sorry about that!
And Erasmo Ramirez got shelled at the MLB level as well. But at least Doc has a silver lining!
Let's put some "Spotlight" on the low minors for a change.
And guys named "Tyler."
I already used the Tyler, Too! catchphrase for Tyler Marlette (26intheMix) -- since he was kind of lost in the shuffle among the many catchers in the organization.
Have you heard about the controversy surrounding the upcoming release of the Lee Daniels-directed movie The Butler? The chances are, you probably have now, thanks to a hugely publicized effort by none other than Hollywood studio mogul Harvey Weinstein. What, exactly, is stuck in Harvey's craw now?
After spending last summer in London participating in the 2012 Olympic Games, you figured maybe Emma Coburn would want a quiet summer. Though Colorado is known for skiing, summertime in Colorado is one of the most beautiful times to visit. Her hometown of Crested Butte isn’t too shabby to see in the warm weather either. Though this would suffice for some, the University of Colorado steepler has bigger fish to fry than catching rays at high altitude.
The first episode in the two-part season finale of Archer airs tonight on FX Networks. I have mixed feelings, to say the least.
This has been an amazing season, and I will be sorry to see the end of it. And it is terrible to contemplate all the Archer-free months of summer to come. Intellectually I understand the cyclical nature of television, all things must come to an end, etc. But who cares? Serpentine! SERPENTINE.
