diderot,

I know that "prospect" lists look at "prospects" and that some are a long way away from #Seattle, but some of the guys on the list still have me scratching my head. For example, between 13-16 you get Hernandez/Liberato/Morgan....and none of them has really done anything. Hernandez didn't hit well in the DOSL against kids just a year older. Liberato did hit .260 in #Everett as a 19yr old, but nowhere last year. Morgan has had 2 years in the Ariz Rk, against guys his own age, and has K'ed in 40% of his PA.s Alex #Jackson as #1 is based on scouted tools, not on any level of production. he was overmatched in Clinton last year, as a 19yr old, but did decently well in #Everett. he'll be in cliton again this year, I imagine, and this will be the one to watch. Braden Bishop will join him there and he's moving up the list. By all accounts he has the glovey stuff to play in the bigs, but he only walked 5 times in 250+ PA's last year, playing at age level in #Everett. He doesn't K much however. If he can develop an Eye, he can be fast-tracking like Boog Powell, who is just a year older and knocking on the Safeco door. O'Neill will have to homer outside of the Cal League AND not K 33% of the time, but clearly, he's getting some love. Maybe some of the love that used to go to Deej. Heck, Tyler Smith may well play in #Seattle THIS year. I can't see how he falls to 25. With Drew #Jackson AND Marte AND Taylor, we have some young SS's....trade bait.

In that spirit, I note that at age 27, Nelson Cruz had a total of 22 home runs.
At age 30, Dazzy Vance had a total of zero MLB wins...and then went on a tear leading the NL in strikeouts for seven straight seasons.

Don't we have a little good karma coming our way? Please?
