Part 1:

OK Doc, here are a few UW Hoops comps. I know you asked for NBA, but since this is #Seattle Sports Insider why don't we try this with a NW focus on former #Seattle Supersonics (and maybe a few former UW players)?

We are only 2 games into the players first season so I have not seen them play enough in real games (some youtube highlights) to make rock-solid statements, these initial impressions are subject to change.

The top ranked player in the class, Dejounte Murray, has filled up the stat sheet the first couple games. Including the TO category, but that should settle down eventually. Shooting touch has not been there in such a brief look, but that will be the determining factor if he ends up along the lines of a Brent Barry or maybe even a Dennis Johnson or Ray Allen type.

Marquese Chriss was the most exciting looking player of all the youtube high school highlight viewings over the past year. He reminded me of human pogo stick Stromile Swift when he was in college. All dunks and blocks. Sprinkled in here and there was a smooth looking jumper, but who knew how many he shot to make one on a highlight tape. Now after seeing him in real game action I'm even more excited. This kid is some kind of mix of Shawn Kemp and Derrick McKey, that's the best I can come up with so far. Tom Chambers if he can shoot the jumper a bit? Potentially one and done. Very exciting!

David Crisp is strong and fiesty. As I mentioned earlier his game is very much like Will Conroy / Isaiah Thomas. Former Sonic comparison? Greg Anthony, who was one of the best defensive pressuring guards I've ever seen in college. Not sure if Crisp will be that good on D.
