The Trader Joe's cat food discrepancy

Mysteries of the shopping aisles

I'm planning my next trip to Trader Joe's for this weekend, and since I'm running low on both canned and dry cat food, I thought I might give theirs a try. I did what I always do before buying something new at Trader Joe's: I Googled it to find out what everyone thinks.

Turns out that Trader Joe's dry and canned dog food are both rated highly among dog owners. Good quality at a great price.

But when it comes to cat food, it's a different story. People rave about Trader Joe's canned cat food, which has high-quality ingredients at a bargain price. But their dry cat food is, by all accounts, absolutely terrible. Bad ingredients, and a lot of people report that it upset their cats' stomachs.

Why the weird discrepancy? And when will Trader Joe's step up their game when it comes to dry cat food? I'm surprised - frankly I have never read a review of Trader Joe's food as bad as the ones I've read about their dry cat food. Yikes!
