Learn to talk like a pirate & more

Want to learn how to talk like a pirate? Mango Languages has a course for you!

Disney has announced the cast to its upcoming Into the Woods production. Some notable faces include Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick and Emily Blunt. I happen to like all of these women, so maybe it will be good. Oh, and Johnny Depp is the Big Bad Wolf, if you are interested…

Kiwi Crate has some cool fall crafts and apple recipes for us all to try. I am really enjoying their blogs and their YouTube videos! Wood Sprite and I have done a few of their experiments. They have a great blog on sensory art activities, too. Wood Sprite used to have sensory issues as a preemie and we did a ton of projects like these every week. I highly recommend them because they are also therapeutic and fun.

Grow some crystals with things you have around the house. We’ve made cute little crystal trees before and WS got a kick out of them.

Here is some cool information about the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival from In Culture Parent.

Homeschool Creations has a bunch of cool projects—check out these crayon jewels, stained glass art and playdough solar systems! Oh, Wood Sprite is going to want to do all of these, I think, and how perfect are the jewels with Talk Like a Pirate Day upon us?

Got fresh mint? Make some mint sugar, tea, vinegar or shampoo. We grow a lot of it in our moon garden (it’s just shaped like a moon) and WS loves to pick it, chew it and especially to make me things out of it.
