Classes and Workshops of the Week - January Week Four

Sometimes you want to spend an afternoon or a night learning something new. NYC has opportunities aplenty when it comes to finding fun and interesting classes and workshops where you can pick up new skills at (usually) reasonable prices. Here are a few of this week’s highlights.

Fleisher’s Beef Butchery 101 - Pier 41 - Jan 31st

Learn the fine art of butchering at this interesting and unusual class. Get a demonstration of how to butcher a steer, learn several techniques for preparing the various parts of the steer, pick up a few new tricks for cooking those various bits and walk away with a whole new set of skills.

Letters to Afar - Museum of the City of New York - Jan 25th

For those that are interested in becoming more culturally aware, this class provides an insightful look at the American immigrant experience throughout history. Learn about the unique challenges that immigrants face, particularly with regard to leaving their homeland behind and assuming a new identity within the American cultural structure.
