Three Delicious Ways to Spike Your Coffee

Do you remember the first time you ever heard someone talk about adding Bailey's to their coffee in the morning? I do... and I remember thinking that person was an absolute genius. As if coffee weren't already classy enough, adding a little extra something special basically transforms it into the Batman of beverages. Whether you're searching for an added kick to start your day or the perfect end to an evening meal, give one of these recipes for coffee cocktails a try.

Architects and Kings
I would've included this one on the list simply because it has one of the suavest names I've ever heard for something you put in a glass. Regarded as a “pro” spiked coffee recipe, this rustic after-dinner drink does require some top notch ingredients and mixing skills, but it's well worth the cost and the prep time. Trust me: Your mouth will thank you.

Classic Irish Cream Coffee
No list of spiked coffees would be complete without an old-fashioned recipe for the drink that started it all. Add a little Bailey's and whipped cream to your mug, top it off with cinnamon, and you've got the best part of waking up (or winding down) in your hands. The web site linked to this recipe also includes many others that are equally lovely.

The Goblet of Fire
While this cocktail calls for coffee liqueur instead of straight-up coffee, I think its recipe could be easily modified and is just too much fun to overlook. Combining Bacardi 151, TY KU and a spoonful of cream, you've got yourself a flammable pick-me-up ideal for parties and grown-up Potter marathons. Just be careful and resist any urge you may have to toss your name into the flames.
