Big DayZ news this week

Updates, price changes, and more

DayZ, the insanely popular open-world game that began as a simple mod for ARMA 2, has had a lot of big changes recently. First, the producers announced major updates to the game which will be forthcoming, including some tuning changes which they hope will encourage people to stop crafting stuff and spend more time out there roaming around.

The game will also soon be available on a wider variety of platforms. (Although not, sadly, for next-gen consoles.)

Other news was not as well-received. The game's price was quietly bumped up by 15% (most games get cheaper over time!) and then immediately reduced by 15% in the Steam fall sale. As a result, the game is now only a few cents cheaper on sale than it was before. Understandably, some people are pretty ticked about this!
