Create a Sensory Experience for Your Date
If you want to truly impress your date but you just don’t have the means or funds to provide a whole sensory experience upon which to dine, have no fear: you can provide it all by yourself without leaving home! If you are comfortable enough with one another to fully trust each other, there is no reason why you can’t enjoy a dining in the dark experience (or other sensory explorations) together.
Notice that I didn’t say that these adventures are sexual in nature. Of course, they can be; that is entirely up to you both! But a sensual exploration of the senses need not be sexual, though they are often erotic. Facing the pleasures that food provides through all of your senses together will surely bring you closer on some level, as well as provide an experience that you and your date will never forget.
You might want to provide the experience in the dark, or with a blindfold. The latter is probably a better choice if you can’t see your way around and you’ll need to use cutlery! Be sure to select sensual delights to feed your guest throughout the night. You don’t have to provide an expensive type of fancy cuisine; juicy fruits like pears and peaches are wonderful, as are strawberries. You can’t go wrong with chocolate—well, almost not—and different types of bubbly drinks, fruity cocktail treats, and other slurp-worthy delights are a must. In fact, sometimes the drink is the most sensuous item on the table.
You can let your guest feed him or herself, but it could be even more fun if you take turns. You could help guide fingers to the plate or cup, or to help aim the glass if his or her mark is off a bit. Feeding chocolate-dripping fruit to one another is delightful, but letting him or her feel the food with the hands is also part of the experience. Be sure to allow time for smelling the food and drink before eating and drinking it, respectively, to allow for a full sensory experience.
Get playful if you want. Drizzle a squeezed orange slice over her wrist and allow her to lick it off if you are getting hotter and closer, or let him lick a bit of peach nectar from your neck. Whatever you do, just make sure that your date is okay with it at first—imagine his or her horror in discovering an unwelcome body shot at the last minute!
