This Week in Dance - November Week Four

As a center of culture in the US (and the world), NYC has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment. One thing that people may overlook is the variety of excellent dance performances that take place every year. Here is a short list of what’s going on in dance this week.

NYCB: The Nutcracker - David H. Koch Theater - Nov 28th through Jan 3rd

With the Christmas season comes multiple productions of The Nutcracker and the NYCB puts on one of the best. Join them at the David H. Koch Theater and witness this amazing ballet for the first time or the fiftieth. Renowned for its brilliant special effects, fans of The Nutcracker should make sure to see this version of it at least once.

Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker - Hammerstein Ballroom - Nov 30th

Yes, it’s another Nutcracker production, but this one features the unique stylization that only the Moscow Ballet can bring to it. Filled with colorful costumes and talented dancers, this single-day production is a must-see for fans of this ballet. But it’s very popular, so you’ll want to get tickets as soon as possible.
