I Agree With Mr. Briggs

The NFL has a policy of equal access for all members of the media. If male reports are allowed in team locker rooms, female reporters must be allowed in too, and Ines Sainz, a female reporter for Mexican television said that last weekend the New York Jets made her uncomfortable in their locker room.

Chicago Bears linebacker Lance Briggs responded to the Ines Sainz incident.

When asked last Wednesday for his opinion on the Ines Sainz incident in the Jets locker room, Mr Briggs said, " the NFL shouldn't allow women in the locker room." Yesterday, Thursday, when asked again for his opinion on the Ines Sainz matter, Mr Briggs said, "I don't regret what I said, The men's locker room is for men, just like the women's locker room is for women. And I meant no disrespect to Peggy (local female reporter) or any other women who are in our locker room because we've never had any problems in our locker room. But the fact that there is an issue over a woman that's in the locker room, that's in the men's locker room, is ridiculous. I don't think there should ever be a problem in the men's locker room. That's our realm.''

I can not agree more. Female reporters do not belong in men's locker rooms, no more than male reporters belong in women's locker rooms, period. If the NFL demands equal access, then no reporters should be allowed in the locker rooms, period.
