Curing your Sims 3 Zombie

Tired of lusting for braaaaains? Read on!

Last time I talked about the mechanism by which your Sim can be turned into a zombie. This is different from the way that townie NPCs get turned into zombies. Townie NPC zombies spawn on your lot in the middle of the night, and they turn back into regular Sims at dawn. But if your Sim gets bitten by a zombie, they can be turned into one for life.

This is fun at first. The available actions are a hoot: when you click on another Sim, your options are "Braaaaains," "Argggh," "Arrrgh," and so forth. Their needs drop, but they can perform most interactions without any problems: you can still tell them to shower, eat something from the fridge (instead of your garden) and so forth.

But in the long run, I don't like having a zombie around. Too many risks, for one thing: I worry about them biting my other Sims. And there's the garden issue. I successfully made my zombie Sim tend his garden, and he didn't eat it. But who knows what he will get up to when my back is turned. And since you can't Woo Hoo, you can't procreate and get zombie babies, so that limits the appeal as well.

A simple potion will cure your zombie. The easiest way to get one is to buy it from the Alchemy store. (If you are not playing in Moonlight Falls, you will probably need to Edit Town and place the Alchemy store in your town.) As with other sale points, the stock changes daily. If they don't have a Cure Elixir for sale one day, go back and check the next.

(This is the same elixir that you can use to cure pestilence, toadification, and other supernatural curses, by the way.)

The other option is to learn the Alchemy skill, and make one yourself. Since you only need level 2 Alchemy skills in order to create a Cure Elixir, this is a very feasible means of obtaining one.

And finally, you can have a friend gift you one through the new in-game gifting system. If you have a friend who has a Sim with the alchemy skill, just ask them to send you one! Sims players are a pretty generous lot, I have found, and if you are really in need you can always ask here or on the Sims 3 forums.
