All-American Pies at Brooklyn Brainery
Is there anything more delicious than a slice of a homemade pie on Thanksgiving? Have you ever wondered what it is about apple and pumpkin spice pies that makes them so utterly appetizing? If you head to Brooklyn Brainery on November 19th, you'll not only be able to hone your baking skills, you'll also be seizing a unique opportunity to learn the history and science of the seasonal pies we all know and love.
Presented by MSG (Masters of Social Gastronomy), All-American Pies is a workshop which promises a wealth of knowledge on the subjects of apple and pumpkin spice pies. MSG's ever informative and passionate food scientists Sarah and Soma will shed some light on why there seems to be about a thousand different types of apples to choose from at the store and dive into the historic journey upon which the pumpkin spice pie embarked to become a staple of the Thanksgiving meal.
Whether you take a friend along or go on your own, this event is sure to be as entertaining as it is educational for anyone excited about baking this season. The workshop is 21+ and includes snacks supplied by Red Jacket Orchards. Don't forget to RSVP!
