Sims 3 France: Eiffel Tower and Special Fruits
If you have the World Adventures expansion pack, you have no doubt encountered two mysteries in France:
1. Where is the Eiffel Tower?
2. Where can I find special fruit?
In the Case of the Missing Eiffel Tower, it's an understandable question. The tower graces all of the marketing materials for World Adventures, including graphics on the website, on the DVD case for the game itself, and on the loading screen when your Sim is travelling there.
So where is the Eiffel Tower in Champs Les Sims? Don't go looking for it - it isn't there.
But you can add it! Through the magic of cheats!
1. Travel to Champs Les Sims.
2. Click to Edit Town.
3. Click World Editor, then the Lots tab.
4. Choose a lot of any size. (The smallest is probably the easiest to place.) Wave your mouse around the map until you find a place it will fit, then click to set the lot.
5. Click on that lot and choose "Build/Buy on this lot."
6. Type CTRL + Shift + C to bring up the cheats field. Type in:
Testingcheatsenabled true
And hit Enter. Then bring up the cheats field again (Ctrl + Shift + C) and type in:
Buydebug on
Hit Enter again.
7. Go to Buy Mode, then click to "Sort by Function" (the view that sorts by kids stuff, surfaces, plumbing, etc.) You will notice a category called "?" in the lower right-hand corner.
8. Scroll through "Misc Objects" to find the Eiffel Tower. Drag it onto your lot and place it. I found that it doesn't matter the lot size - you can still set down the Eiffel Tower - even though it hangs over the edges by, like, a lot. Note that the tower is HUGE, so you'll want to be careful with positioning it!
Find Fruit in France
As for special fruit, I had a devil of a time locating the "wild" plants. For one of the nectar challenges, your Sim has to harvest "wild" fruit, and for another challenge you need to use pomegranate. But where to find them?
There are four places in Champs Les Sims where you can find fruit to harvest:
1. The Nectary is the obvious first stop. Three varieties of grapes can be picked in the field behind the Nectary (Cherimola Blan, Renoit, and Avornalino). You can also harvest apples and limes from the trees planted alongside the Nectary.
2. From Base Camp, follow the dirt road to a terraced mansion. More grapes grow on the terraces out front, including Meloire grapes.
3. That's right: the secret island! Use cheats, Zeneport, or Pangu's Axe to get there. Inside the little stone structure you can find the two rare grape varieties, Cranerlet Nuala and Gralladina Fran.
4. Look near the Cemetary for a house that has a heavily sculpted garden in front, a pool with a blinding white patio in back, and which is encircled with a black wrought iron fence. Tucked away inside the front garden are three trees: pomelo, plum, and pomegranate. (There's also a grape vine - I think it might be Meloire.)
