Get Spooked at the NYC Horror Film Festival

Yet another Halloween has come and gone, leaving many of us with a wicked candy hangover and a craving for more horrifying fun. Luckily, the annual New York City Horror Film Festival is just around the corner and it has exactly what we're looking for.

Held in a variety of locations throughout the city during the second and third weeks of November, this competitive film festival screens more than 50 films per year. While the deadline for film submissions has passed, tickets sales are still open for anyone wanting to take part in this renowned celebration of independent horror cinema. In addition to the premieres and screenings of both short and feature length films – Fear Clinic with Robert Englund and Tales of Poe are just two of many lined up for 2014 – NYCHFF also grants awards for best direction, special effects and more.

This year, the festival will also be revering Angus Scrimm as the recipient of their Lifetime Achievement Award.

NYCHFF is an excellent opportunity for fans of both horror and independent films to bear witness to raw movie magic, as well as offer support and enthusiasm for up-and-coming filmmakers alongside the industry professionals we already know and love.
