The next time you’re looking for something to do on the weekend, try checking out one of the many fun and interesting festivals that come through Austin each year. Here are a couple of the more unusual ones that you might want to visit.

Hardcore Horror Film Festival - Emo’s East - Oct 23^rd through Oct 26^th

This seasonal festival brings to Austin a mix of great films and heavy duty heavy metal music. Movies are from the horror, true crime and heavy metal genres and there will be more than 100 to choose from during the event’s four days. For couples that love horror, this is the place to be come the end of the month.

Austin Celtic Festival - FiestaGardens - Oct 18^th and 19^th

Those with Irish and Scottish heritage may find this festival to be an interesting way to spend a weekend. Enjoy some Highland Games along with Celtic-themed music, food, dancing, workshops and more. Come as a couple or bring along the little ones if you have some.
