It appears as if the fundamentalist front just won’t shut up when it comes to persecuting those of a religion that they neither agree with nor understand. The American Freedom Defensive Initiative (the name itself being completely ironic) is running another round of anti-Islamic adverts on the sides of New York’s busses. They’ve done it before and the courts determined that it was legal, though on has to wonder at the moral implications of attacking an entire religion simply because some of the people involved in it are extreme. Worse yet, the ads are pro-Israel and label the opposition to that country as “savage”. This all harkens back to a time when people of color were labeled as savages and considered to be sub-human. When exactly are people going to stop living 200 years in the past?
