The best mineral springs near Boston

Where to soak near Boston

Hot springs are a great way to kick back and relax. Let the mineral water soak your cares away! Here are our picks for the top three hot springs in the Boston area.

Walden Pond

Although not a mineral spring per se, Walden Pond has the benefit of literary history. Who wouldn’t want to take a dip in the pond that inspired Thoreau’s masterpiece?

Spring Pond

This local treasure has been in use for hundreds of years, and has a long history of being used as a cure for many different illnesses. Cotton Mather published a diary entry by his father, in which his father talked about soaking in Spring Pond to help recover from his illness.

Hopkinton Springs

Once the site of a thriving resort which catered to the mineral springs crowd, Hopkinton Springs is now an overgrown area with only a few remnants of the original structures remaining. A path leads to the site of the original springs, and it’s possible that you can still take a dip, if you are feeling adventurous.
