The Best Romantic Films - Breakfast at Tiffany’s

Some movies stand above the rest when it comes to being the best in their genre. For the couple that enjoys watching romantic movies, there’s no need to sift through the rubbish to find the gems, for I have done the work for you. This week’s exceptional romantic film is:

Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961) - This movie may be more than 50 years old, but the subject matter and the way it’s approached translates to the modern day almost flawlessly. Breakfast at Tiffany’s brings Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard to the big screen in what turns out to be an amazing performance from both of them. Hepburn is a skeptical woman, looking for the man that can afford to bring her up into proper New York society. Peppard is a writer and gigolo, trying to become famous even as he uses women’s desires to help pay his bills. The two form a bond of friendship that eventually transforms into something deeper.

This is a great romantic film that approaches relationships from a more realistic point of view. People love and are loved but they also make compromises in order to survive. Sometimes those compromises involve ignoring the true loves in their lives. A perfect date night film for anyone that likes intelligent romantic comedies.
