When one decides to enter into a career as a journalist, one must think of the many potential dangers of such a job, particularly if you plan on getting the best stories. But somehow I don’t think they prepare you for what one reporter faced recently in the New York subway. Apparently, the man attempted to film a giant, subway-dwelling rat and the animal in question didn’t take kindly to that. The rat attacked the reporter.

Luckily for the man, the dirty critter ultimately skirted by him and ran away. Still, I’m guessing that reporter is going to have a newfound respect for one of New York’s most prolific animals. And maybe next time he’ll ask permission before he tries to take its picture.
