NYC Goes Violent with Shooting Streak

This weekend hasn’t been a good one for residents of New York City. A surge of gun violence claimed the lives of two people and injured nearly two-dozen others. The number of shooting incidents totaled 11, taking place in 4 separate neighborhoods over the course of less than 28 hours.

So what brings on this rash of violence? Is it the weather? Bad gun control laws? Or are there just that many people out there that can’t figure out how to solve a problem without firing off a few bullets? Hopefully this is just a small hiccup and we, as a city, can get past it and move on to greater (and more peaceful) things.
