New York City is a place that attracts people from all over the world. As a result, we’ve seen quite a few famous faces come out of the city or settle down to make their homes there. Here’s a spotlight on just one of those celebrity personalities.
Lauren Bacall - The passing of Lauren Bacall may have been overshadowed by the loss of actor Robin Williams, but fans of Bacall will know that she was no less important to the world of movies than Williams was. This New York native may have fled to LA for a while, but when her husband, another NYC native, Humphrey Bogart died, she was back in her old hometown.
Bacall was nearly 90 years old when her time came. She spent 60 years of her life involved in the movies, her last role being a voice-over for a movie that just released in America this year. She also had an extensive stage, television and modeling career and earned several awards for her various performances. Bacall is definitely an actress that NYC can be proud to call one of their own.
