NYC City Sued Yet Again!

You may remember a while back when two kids were stabbed and one of them killed in the elevator of a public housing complex. The event was tragic, though now it seems as if the family of the slain child will be trying to take advantage of the situation by suing the city of New York for $281 million.

The claim is that there’s insufficient security in the housing complex. And while this may be true, the city is in the process of adding video cameras to many locations. The location in question was just further down the list. Personally, I think the family is deserving of some compensation, enough to get themselves past this event and back on track to living their lives, but trying to get hundreds-of-millions does little other than guaranteeing that other housing complexes will not receive their adequate security and that the future will hold even more such tragic events.
