It sounds like the plot to one of those Home Alone movies and, in fact, it was, but apparently a nine-year-old kid got lost recently and spent his time exploring New York City. He wandered out of the zoo where his parents were, made his way through Times Square and then ended up walking more than a mile until he reached the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The parents were, of course, panicking, but the boy was said to have reported having the time of his life. It just goes to show that even bad comedies can sometimes carry a note of truth.
