NYC Famous Faces - Christopher Walken

New York City is a place that attracts people from all over the world. As a result, we’ve seen quite a few famous faces come out of the city or settle down to make their homes there. Here’s a spotlight on just one of those celebrity personalities.

Christopher Walken - Everyone who has ever seen a movie will recognize the face of world-famous actor Christopher Walken. He may not be pulling in Oscar nominations every year, but his charisma and style have attracted a huge fan base of people that will go to the movies just to see this man act. He also happens to be a native of New York City.

Born in Queens, Walken has since settled down in Connecticut, but he’ll forever be a treasure of NYC. His father was a simple baker, but his mother once wanted to be a star. It was she who would plant the first seeds of Hollywood in Walken’s head. He began his career early, doing some child acting work. When he grew older, he took on the job of a lion tamer at a circus. When Broadway finally called, he jumped onboard and has been acting ever since.

In his earlier roles, Walken graced such classics as Annie Hall and The Deer Hunter. The majority of his other films were smaller, though he did get to play a Bond villain at one time. As time moved on, Walken stuck to his guns and took on roles that made him happy. You may look at some of his films and question why, but you can never question the fact that the man is beloved by people the world over, both New Yorkers and otherwise.
