Big Brother is Watching You… Ride the Subway

If you’ve ever felt a little sketchy while riding the New York subway, than the latest plan to make the underground transportation safer may be right up your alley. The transit authority is currently looking over a proposed plan to put cameras on the trains so that they can keep an eye on the people inside them.

Though one might think people would resent being watched everywhere they go, it turns out that the biggest issue with the plan is that they can’t quite figure out a way to get the cameras to provide feeds in real time. Mobile cameras running underground aren’t exactly the easiest things to hook up. But other subway systems have done it successfully, so it is possible at least. Now we just wait and see whether they think the rewards are going to be worth the costs.
