New York City is a place that attracts people from all over the world. As a result, we’ve seen quite a few famous faces come out of the city or settle down to make their homes there. Here’s a spotlight on just one of those celebrity personalities.

Vin Diesel - Originally named Mark Sinclair, the man we would come to know as Vin Diesel was born in NYC. He was raised by his mother, never knowing who his father was and never being aware of what his true ethnic origins were. His stepfather happened to be an acting instructor and theater manager, a fact that would in no small way lead Vin into his future career.

His first role on stage was at the age of seven and he was hooked from then on. Though he struggled for some time, it was in the 90s that he finally began to break into film. What some may not know, however, is that he also writes and directs. His film Strays was even turned into a TV series on MTV. As the year 2000 came and went, Vin began to become a household name. From Boiler Room to Pitch Black to his eventual superstardom in the Fast and Furious franchise, Vin is now firmly entrenched in Hollywood and, if the tales are to be believed, he also happens to be one of the nicest guys on the planet.
