Fear Not, NYC, for Your Giant Sodas Are Safe

It’s finally official - the city of New York may consume sodas of any size that they please. The ban on sodas larger than 16 ounces, implemented by the city’s health department, was shot down once again. And while this may not be the healthiest thing for people in general, businesses that rely on high levels of sugary consumption are pleased. Movie theaters, restaurants, sports venues and all the rest are rejoicing at the ruling.

Of course, this means we’re still going to have to deal with a proliferation of diseases such as obesity and diabetes, but at least people have the freedom to choose whether they wish to be unhealthy or not. Now if only we could get the tax on cigarettes lowered, those of us with other bad habits could be happy as well.
