New York City is a place that attracts people from all over the world. As a result, we’ve seen quite a few famous faces come out of the city or settle down to make their homes there. Here’s a spotlight on just one of those celebrity personalities.

Woody Allen - A man whose name is synonymous with Hollywood and Broadway, Woody Allen has created a countless number of award-winning movies and received critical praise for nearly everything he’s done. He also happened to be born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn.

He came from modest origins and a family that wasn’t exactly ideal. But Allen wasn’t even 18 years of age before he was beginning to make a name for himself as a comedy writer. He would quickly go on to write scripts for some of the most famous comedy shows on TV at the time, including The Ed Sullivan Show and The Tonight Show.

As the years moved on, Allen became more and more recognized. He began to write plays and received even more critical acclaim. He eventually started writing and directing movies and the rest is history. Think what you will of Allen’s works, he’s a New Yorker that literally made the journey from rags to riches.
