Finding Peace in the Big City

Sometimes you need some time away from all the hustle and bustle of the big city. Sure, New York is a haven for those that love culture, entertainment and distraction, but you can only take so much before you want to explode. And even taking a walk through Central Park doesn’t really get you away from all the activity. Thanks to some (other) clever folks on Internet, I’ve got a few places I can recommend where you might actually be able to find some isolation and rest.

The ShakespeareGarden is located conveniently in Central Park, but lacks the foot traffic of the majority of the park. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is another, if surprising choice. It may be a massive tourist attraction, but it’s also a massive building. If you need a quiet corner, there are plenty there. And the Red Hooks Piers rounds out the selection. Apparently, people just don’t congregate there all that much, despite the amazing view it offers of the harbor.
