Romantic dinner for two in Portland, ME

Where to go for dinner in Portland

Portland has more than its share of outstanding seafood restaurants, but when it comes to date night, you might be interested in something a little bit different. Here are our picks for the top three most romantic restaurants in Portland to take a date.

Five Fifty-Five (Old Port)

Possibly one of the best all-round restaurants in Portland, 555’s head chef was recently named Chef of the Year by the Maine Restaurant Association. Maine Magazine also named Five Fifty-Five the “most romantic” restaurant in Maine, how can you go wrong?

Back Bay Grill (West Bayside)

This traditional upscale restaurant will leave you blown away by their attentive service and top-notch food. Be sure to leave room for one of their famous decadent desserts!

Hugo’s Restaurant (Old Port)

The tasting menu is probably the best way to experience the interesting, sometimes experimental offerings available at Hugo’s. With a more casual, laid-back atmosphere than our other two picks, Hugo’s is a great choice for a couple who want a romantic dinner without having to worry about a dress code.
