For those who wish to experience something new and different this May, Pittsburgh has two festivals that might be right up your alley. Clear a day or two on your calendar and make your way down to see one of these events. Bring along your special someone and make it even better.
Pittsburgh Folk Festival - Monroeville - May 15th & 16th
This multicultural event features a wide variety of music, arts and crafts, performances and, of course, food. Experience a wealth of interesting things coming from the hearts of the Pittsburgh area’s ethnic communities. It’s like stepping out of the city and into a vast, open world where you’ll be awash with new ideas.
National Road Festival - Various towns - May 14th through May 17th
This very unique festival takes place at a variety of locations, all along the Historic National Road. Follow a genuine wagon train and, at each stop, take in the music, art and amazing food that they bring along with them. Whether you stop off for one day or follow the wagon train the entire 300 miles, it’s worth a visit.
