New York's "lost cow tunnels"

Myth or reality?

Local legend has long held that beneath New York City are large tunnels that were once used to usher cattle from the docks to the slaughterhouse inland, without having to clog the city streets with a cattle stampede. But are these “cow tunnels” myth or reality? Gizmodo investigated the rumors, and found some interesting corroboration – enough to label them “semi-mythical.”
