Lollapalooza's 2013 lineup is impressive
The 2013 Lollapalooza lineup is a jaw-dropper, to be sure. This year's annual festival in Chicago will feature a diverse lineup of big name performers. If you've never been to Lollapalooza, now might be an excellent time to consider a trip to ChiTown for the big event.
Organizers recently announced the headliners for the 2013 Lollapalooza three-day festival, which kicks off on August 2, 2013, in Chicago's Grant Park. Among the biggest names set to take the stage: The Cure, Nine Inch Nails and Mumford & Sons. Count me in, just based on the headliners alone. If there is any way that I can make my way to Illinois in early-August, I'm going.
Other major acts slated to perform at Lollapalooza 2013 include New Order, the Postal Service, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers and Vampire Weekend. Just a quick glance at the lineup reveals even more opportunities to catch some other hot live acts, including the Lumineers, Band of Horses and Grizzly Bear.
I've only seen one of the bands I've mentioned live - Band of Horses - and I can tell you with certainty they're phenomenal live performers. I've always wanted to see The Cure, too, and Mumford & Sons seems like a show I'd love too.
If you want to go to this year's Lollapalooza, you might have to work a little magic to secure tickets: Single-day tickets went on sale on April 3, 2013, and sold out in just one hour. The three-day passes are gone, too, so at this point, you only have a few limited options: Hit up a secondary ticket sales site (like StubHub) or go for a very expensive travel package. Personally I'd try the StubHub route. It'll cost you, but with this kind of stellar lineup, it might be well worth it. I love music festivals like this one, because you pay one price and you get to see multiple performances. I almost always discover a new band I love this way, too.
All the info you need on this year's festival lineup can be found on the official Lollapalooza website. Information about tickets is also available.
Has anyone out there already secured Lollapalooza tickets? Who do you most want to see?
