If you have a special creep in your life and you'd like to take them someplace where they'll feel right at home, check out these deliciously macabre cocktail bars located right here in New York City.
Death & Co.
Widely regarded as one of the best bars in the East Village, Death & Co. specializes in serving fine wines and craft cocktails in an atmosphere inspired by the nightlife of Prohibition Era boozehounds. Their drinks typically fall within the $15 range and you'd be hard pressed to find a cocktail they can't mix. This is an ideal location if you're hoping to win the favor of someone who truly loves drinking in the dark.
Apotheke
When it comes to delightfully morbid date destinations, few can compare to the scientifically rich “absinthe den” Apotheke. From a staff of mixologists sporting lab coats to the overwhelming sensation that you've stumbled upon an old world speakeasy after dark, ambiance abounds at this hidden gem in Chinatown. It's a little tough to find, but well worth the expedition.
