El Rio is another great San Francisco dive bar that offers up affordable drinks and live music. It’s roomy, the bartenders are skilled at what they do and there are plenty of drunken distractions such as pool and shuffle board. If the interior gets to be too much for you, head out on their back patio and get some air or grab a hot dog. For those trying to get away from the more pretentious bar scene, El Rio is a good place to start. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, you should definitely stop by at least once, though don’t forget to bring cash, as they don’t take plastic there. Has anyone been to El Rio before?
