Men in Kilts
Brad Evans, Roger Levesque and Erik Friberg are up for the challenge

It’s that time of year again. Every spring, it’s time to get out your kilt and enjoy the weather, right? Well, maybe not for everybody, but this year Brad Evans, Roger Levesque and Erik Friberg are all entering the Men in Kilts charity event to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Western Washington and Alaska. One of the area’s favorite charity events, it runs from April 6 through 22, 2016.

To participate, all you have to do is vote for your favorite man in a kilt from all of the contests and donate $10 per vote. In addition to the members of the Seattle Sounders listed above, you can also vote for Jonathan Porretta from the Pacific Northwest Ballet;  Alan Finkelstein, owner of the local McDonald’s; Sean Kelly of the Gates Foundation; and various employees from Bungie, Alaska Airlines, Jet City Saber Guild, Waste Management and many other local companies.

These men donned kilts in cold weather to help support their favorite charity. Last year, Evans and Levesque entered the competition, but this year Friberg is joining, too. Levesque says it’s a great charity to work for. “"The Men in Kilts campaign gives us a great opportunity to engage on a lot of different levels. On the community level, we're huge supporters of Ronald McDonald House and the great work they do for families here in Seattle. This gives us a chance to have a conversation with supporters, encourage them to vote for the King of the Kilt and ask them to vote. Each vote equals a donation and that's a fun way to engage fans."

The charity event started in 2012 and ever since, it has been a big hit. The Seattle Seahawks and even Guns N Roses have entered contestants in the past! The charity supports families who are living far from home while their children undergo serious medical treatment from local specialists. They also provide families shuttle service to the hospital to see their children as well as a home away from home. They are currently building a house in Alaska. Be sure to visit the campaign page to see all of the Men in Kilts and vote for your favorite. The Sounders men are trailing in the middle of the bunch so be sure to vote them up!
