The Birds just haven’t had the greatest luck this season when it comes to playing against the Silvertips. This last beating was perhaps the most brutal of the season. Everett took the game with a score of 4-1, and this time it was even on their home turf at the ShoWare Center. The game took place last Saturday night, on December 12. Even though the Birds scored the first goal of the evening with Turner Ottenbreit’s second goal this year, they simply could not keep up after that first period score. The Silvertips started off behind but increased their momentum throughout the entire evening, outshooting the Birds right off the bat with nearly double the shots at 16-7.

First Patrick Bajkov tied the game up, assisted by Mackenzie Dwyer and Matt Fonteyne, during the second period. The tie continued until the third period, however, which was when the Silvertips really took the game. The T-Birds simply could not recover after Remi Laurencelle scored in the final period, followed by goals scored by Cole MacDonald and another by Patrick Bajkov. The Silvertips outscored the Birds in total shots and even Cory Hart proved his mettle for the night when he was able to block every single shot, save the one goal made by Ottenbreit. He is defintiely a goalkeeper to watch. Meanwhile, the T-Birds are now sitting with 38 points in the division race.

Pub Night tickets, which are $20 for a minimum of 10 tickets and include one beer and one hat per person, are also still available for tonight’s game.
