I think there may be more moves that stem from Julio Morban (Talk40 #15) breaking a bone in his leg (his move to the DL hasn't been reported yet), but here are the rest of the moves that took place on Monday:

• Steven Proscia (26intheMix) returns to AA Jackson.  He'd lost his job there to Ji-Man Choi (Talk40 #19), who (as we reported yesterday) was bumped up to AAA Tacoma.
• Cameron Hobson also goes from High Desert to Jackson.  Hobson takes the spot of Roenis Elias (26intheMix), who had an emergency appendectomy.
• Jordy Lara moves from Clinton to High Desert to take Proscia's spot.
• Scott DeCecco also from Clinton to High Desert to take Hobson's spot.
• Steven Ewing advances from Everett to Clinton to fill DeCecco's spot.

That's all I got right now.

AAA -- Tacoma 3, Colorado Springs 1   -- Box

Walker, Seattle Mariner!  Sure, a bit wobbly in the walk column, but another solid outing for Taijuan Walker (Talk40 #2), who, as we noted in the Shout Box, just hit full-fledged adulthood (21st birthday was Aug. 13).

5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 6 K

And Brian Moran (Talk40 #35) came in to relieve and got four more strikeouts in the next 2.1 IP.

And then there's Abraham Almonte (26intheMix): homered, walked, stole a base.

• HR: 13
• BB: 64 (vs. 89 K)
• SB: 23 (vs. 8 CS)

A lot to like about this guy.

AA -- Mobile 6, Jackson 2 [7 innings]  -- Box

AA -- Mobile 5, Jackson 4 [10 innings]  -- Box

Y'all know by now that nothing makes us grin a bit more than when one of the semi-rinky-dink seven-inning double-header games goes into "extra" innings.  And Game 2 actually went into "extra" "extra" innings.

Game 1: The BayBears jumped on disappointing Anthony Fernandez (Talk40 #23) (4.0 IP, 6 ER), and held the Generals without an extra-base hit.

Game 2: The reason the game went to "extra" innings was -- naturally -- Blash Splash 21!

The three-run blast was the fifth in AA for Jabari Blash (Watch List), after 16 at High Desert.  His totals for Jackson: .276/.354/.552.  But his K% of 32.3% remains a ginormous red flag.

High-A -- High Desert 7, Rancho Cucamonga 6 -- Box

Could it be that Guillermo Pimentel (26intheMix) and his Electric Bat! were just bored at Low-A Clinton?

I doubt it, but three homers in three games after promotion to High Desert is interesting.

We'll keep an eye on it.

And Jordy Lara had the same result, but just one game so far.  After his promotion (mentioned above), he homered in his first Cal League game.

The Mavericks fell behind 6-5 in the top of the 9th, but a two-run rally in the bottom saved the day.  Jamal Austin tripled to set it up, and Patrick Kivlehan (Talk40 #33) doubled to finish it off.

Low-A -- Clinton 7, Kane County 4 -- Box

Loooooove the Deeeeeeej!

D.J. Peterson: 3-for-4, double, HR, walk

That's 13 homers so far, and .310/.371/.567 in 53 games.

And Dario Pizzano (26intheMix) got in on the act as well, with his seventh homer, plus a single.

Steven Ewing (promotion also mentioned above) had his first Midwest League start: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 3 K.

Short Season-A -- Everett 7, Eugene 2 -- Box

Another one of the Tom McNamara "northeast college guys" crew is Nate Koneski, a lefty from Holy Cross.

He's produced a lot of strikeouts (career 9.7 K/9), but also yielded a lot of hard hits (career 1.3 HR/9).

Tuesday he put together a dazzler: 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K.

That gets him on the radar at least.

And ... is Austin Wilson turning a corner?

Let's hope so: 3-for-3, double, HR, walk

In his last five games, he has eight hits and three homers.

That's after one homer in the first 42 games.

Rookie -- Pulaski 5, Bluefield 1 -- Box

We noted this in the Shout Box, but another Ed-Winner for Edwin Diaz (Talk40 #36):

7.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 10 K

On the year: 1.41 ERA | 0.94 WHIP | 2.4 BB/9 | 10.7 K/9

The Blue Jays never had a chance, even if the M's didn't get three hits from Aaron Barbosa and a series of solo bombs from Kristian Brito (Watch List) (his ninth), Wilton Martinez (his 11th) and Jesus Ugueto (his sixth).

AZL Rookie -- Royals 7, Mariners 0 -- Box

One bright spot as the youthful Royals ran away from the youthful M's: 17-year-old Brazilian  Daniel Missaki: 3.0 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.
