Jeff G. (RockiesJeff) sends along the following update on his son Jeremy, who he coached in high school and who is now in the Royals' system:

Forgot to give you an update on Jeremy. He is still at Extended Spring Training in AZ. His last three roommates moved up to A ball but nothing for him yet.
He has been moved to a starter which he likes much more. Mentally there is a big difference for the kids being used to something. Their comfort zone.
Anyway, the last four outings Jeremy has done well with about a 0.500 WHIP. Last week he texted me telling me they told him he couldn't throw his slider any more. They never said why. He asked why and appealed - he much prefers that to the curve. His best pitch in high school was the knuckle curve but he lost confidence in college when he struggled with that as his velocity was better.
Anyway, last Friday without the slider he started off by hitting the first batter, single, then a 3-0 count that ended in a K which was the start of 12 straight outs. He said the next time he can throw 5. That makes 4 straight starts without any runs...I think only one walk. Ks have been down though....certainly not a perfect world!!!
The MLB draft is coming up and the kids all get 3 days off so Jeremy is flying home for that weekend. He will get assigned to something soon. I shall let you know what is coming up soon.

Only 4 innings and 65 pitches for Moore with Tacoma last night. 3 hits, 2 ER's.
But the short stint is interesting, no?
Saving him for a Seattle start?

Not that I am Sherlock Holmes but didn't see anything. 65 pitches so no immediate call up?
Headed to AAA game here with my daughter tomorrow! Too bad it isn't in AZ!
