Crosscheck -- Trayvon's Game 1

..................

OK, here's a hypo-hypothetical for you.  Had I been watching Travyon Robinson make his ML debut for a team I don't care about -- say, the Kansas City Royals -- and getting paid $200 for a one-game, trial-basis crosscheck?

Here's what I'd a seen in that one game, and filed, if I'd a had no preconceptions going in.

Well, maybe I'd of left the part about the fan-thread out of it.  The stuff after the anti-censorship /vent, we mean.

Additional Bat Nominations

The Ms will have money to spend in 2012, but not as much as it may first appear.  As G-Money (I think) pointed out, Felix's contract goes up by $8.5M (from $10M to $18.5M).  And Bedard, assuming he's back, will cost more than the $1M he's getting this year.

So it's probably best to figure on one additional bat, who would go at LF (probably) or DH.  Nice thing is, as we've discussed before, those are the "easiest" spots to fill "on the market."  That's the beauty of Ackley-at-Second.

I bring it up now, because it is probable that many of these guys will be available at the deadline, and it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that Z would go get one now, in Cliff Lee fashion, and hope to re-sign.  Or, some of them will not actually be free agents but are arbitration-eligible guys who are getting pricey -- and no reason not to consider getting one of those guys this year either, since I think he wants to have a fairly "complete" team in the second half to make a running start on 2012.

1.  Big Dollar Guys

Dr. K Korner

Whereas I only play a (roto) doctor on the internet, Kelly actually has his sheepskin ... he also had a 5-for-5 night, so:

I few notes I find interesting about Pineda's performance.  Pineda has a strikeout rate of 15K/9 in the first inning of his three starts, compared to a rate of 6.06K/9 in all other innings.  The hitters are coming up in the first inning looking to do damage, are realizing they are overmatched, and using their pepper swing for the rest of the game.

Mariners 3, Royals 2 - It is TOUGH WORK with no homers, babe

SLOPS TO WHOEVER FIGURED you could slug it out in the AL without hitting homers.  Even the wins occur by dint of massive effort.  Maybe if you get Bob Gibson II on the mound, and a blown call by an ump, and your shortstop gets the big hit, you'll win by a run.
